Welcome to St. Michael Catholic Church!
Are you new to the Catholic faith and interested in learning more? Have you been attending Mass for many years with your family, but have never been Baptized or Confirmed? Or maybe you grew up Catholic, but fell away from the Church and are now interested in becoming more involved? No matter what your experiences have been, you are welcome at St. Michael.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, also known as RCIA, provides an opportunity to learn more about the Catholic faith in order to make an informed decision for those individuals interested in entering into full communion with the Catholic Church. Once that decision is made, preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation and Reconciliation will take place. We provide/offer two different programs to welcome candidates into the Church.
- For those individuals who are not baptized, we offer a program that begins in September and ends after the Easter Vigil.
- For those individuals who were baptized in another faith, we offer a 10-week program in the fall and spring. In the fall session, these candidates will be welcomed into full communion with the Catholic Church at the Christ the King Mass. Those candidates in the spring session will be welcomed into full communion with the Catholic Church at Pentecost.
- For those who have been away from the Church but want to come home, consider attending our Returning Catholics program. These sessions are held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in Parish Office Meeting Room 2. Watch the bulletin, weekly email, and Facebook for specific dates. This six-week program will meet on Sunday mornings and will cover topics such as hurts of the past, forgiveness, spiritual growth, discussions about the Sacraments and the Mass, along with marriage, divorce and annulments. The sessions will be a time to ask questions and learn about Church teaching. You do not need to register to attend, but if you have questions, please contact Bryan and Terri at 770-371-7596 or [email protected].
