Safe Parish

The Archdiocese of Indianapolis and St. Michael Catholic Church and School are committed to protecting our young people and vulnerable adults.  In order to minimize the chance for abuse to occur, each volunteer age 18 or older is required to complete Safe Parish, an online course that educates volunteers about sexual abuse. This course gives each of us the ability to protect all God's children. Successful completion of this course results in recognizing types, signs, characteristics, scenarios, and in general, indicators of suspected abuse.  To provide a safe environment for the children at our church and school, all adults 18 and older (staff and volunteers) are required to take this online course.

"The whole Church, especially the laity, at both the Archdiocesan and national levels, needs to be engaged in maintaining safe environments in the Church for children and young people."
