First Reconcilation

"...He breathed on them and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained"'
(John 20: 22-23).

Preparation to receive the sacrament of First Reconciliation is available to all baptized children age seven or above. This sacramental formation is offered in both our parish school and the Wednesday Evening Religious Education (WNRE) classes.  WNRE classes are held on Wednesdays during the school year from 7-8 p.m.

Families are encouraged to receive this sacrament together.  Consider scheduling time on a regular basis to receive this sacrament and allow a routine to be established.  Allow children to see that reconciliation is another sacrament that will give them grace and can be utilized frequently.

Act of Contrition for Children

O my God, I am sorry for my sins. In choosing to sin and failing to do good, I have sinned against you. I promise, with the help of your Son, Jesus, to make up for my sins and to love you and others as I should. Amen.
