Homebound, Nursing Home, Hospital Ministry

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me'... 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me".  —Matthew 25:35-36, 40

Serving those who can't attend Mass by bringing them the Body and Blood of Christ is a profound and meaningful ministry. You don't need to be an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to participate, but training is required. This role is open to all who feel called to share this special gift with the homebound, hospitalized, and those in nursing homes.

All liturgical ministers (except Altar Severs) must be confirmed, practicing Catholics and, if married, must be in accordance with the laws of the Church. In addition, liturgical ministers must follow the Precepts of the Catholic Church.
