The Bereavement Committee’s main mission is to provide a meal to the surviving members of a deceased parish member’s family. Meals are served in the Fr. Severin Parish Life Center. When we are notified of a death, we ask food volunteers to provide food and worker volunteers to work the funeral dinner. Sometimes there are extended times where we are not needed, and other times we will have several meals close together.
We are always looking for volunteers; both men and women. We do not prepare anything fancy. Yet we do try to provide a pleasant atmosphere with “comfort food”. We are looking for individuals who would like to assist in organizing, preparing and serving the meals as well as individuals to provide the food. You do not have to cook anything as you could bring pre-made items such as chips, bread, drink mix, etc. Homemade items are always welcome and appreciated.
O Lord, grant those who have died the joy of Your Presence, and us who are living the happiness of knowing this.
