Mission Trip 2019

A mission trip to the island of Grenada is being planned for June 8-15, 2019.

Missionaries will be hosted by Sr. Gillian Jerome of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother and staying at the St. Martin Retreat Center, which is located near the center of the island of Grenada.  We will have dormitory style rooms, but there is no air-conditioning.  Our service project will be finishing St. Agnes church that has been under construction for several years. (The original church was destroyed by Hurricane Ivan in (2004). We will be smoothing the cinderblock walls, fundraising, and installing windows and doors  Sr. Gillian reported that the parishioners at St. Agnes are elated that we will be helping them finish their church.

Costs:  Round trip flights on Delta Airlines are about $800.  The cost of housing, food, and island transportation is $620 and a passport is required to travel to Grenada (~$130).  Depending on the final size of the team, we will need to raise about $5,000 for the project. Currently, the team stands at seven people, and we hope to recruit ten more adults and young adults.

If you are at least 18 years old (at the time of the trip) and would like to go, or would like more information, please contact Dennis DeCapua at dennis.m.decapua@cummins.com.
